The Catechumenate (cat – he- CUE – men – it) is a weekly gathering in the Winter and Spring for those who want to explore mature, adult faith
in the context of open and gracious conversation. The word Catechumenate describes an ancient process in the early Church by which people came to faith.
It was a process that relied on questioning.
We still rely on questioning, but today question-asking is a two-way street.
Questions are welcome. Conversation is the norm. Everything is on the table.
Spiritual growth is the goal.
For some, this process will result in a new faith commitment such as getting baptized or confirmed. Others will use this class to become a member of our community. No such commitment is required to participate. If you want to explore faith deeply, you are welcome.
Conversation will be facilitated by Stephen Carlsen, the Dean (senior pastor) of Christ Church Cathedral, and by other clergy of the Cathedral.
