Choral Masterworks

The next Choral Masterworks concert is on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 4:30 p.m., with the Choirs of the Cathedral, and featuring the music featuring the great works of Twentieth Century England and America. David Sinden will be on the organ, and joining us will be the University of Indianapolis Chamber Choir, with Paul Krasnowky as conductor, and Marko Petričić on organ. This collaboration will feature the infectious and buoyant Chichester Psalms of Bernstein, remininiscent of “West Side Story,” with full orchestra including a large percussion section, as well as Benjamin Britten’s delightful cantata “Rejoice in the Lamb,” and “Simple Symphony” for strings. All are welcome!

Our Choral Masterworks has established a tradition in Indianapolis of performing major choral works, with orchestras. These concerts usually feature a Cathedral Choir, and have featured works from Bach, Britten, and beyond. Choral Masterworks gives our choirs the opportunity to sing large-scale choral pieces with local instrumentalists and guest vocal soloists.
