Christ Church Cathedral generally organizes mission trips once a year, depending on the annual budget. Trips are usually held in late spring or summer.

The Mission Trip Planning Committee has a document of written guidelines that are used to determine who will be chosen to attend a mission. First priority will be given to participants who have not been on any previous mission trips. The Mission Trip Planning Committee strives for 75 percent of the participants to be first-time missioners.

Not more than two positions will be available to members within the diocese but outside CCC. Several other requirements are specified.
