2019 Holy Week & Easter Schedule

 

Maundy Thursday
Thursday, April 18th, 7:30pm at the CathedralThis is the last moment in Holy Week when we celebrate the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, partaking of the bread and wine. This mass is a bilingual service. More information here. Childcare is available for this service.
Good Friday
Friday, April 19th, 12:05pm and 7:30pm at the Cathedral
On Good Friday we commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus. It is a day of fasting and special acts of discipline and self-denial. The eucharist is not celebrated in the Episcopal Church on Good Friday. We invite you to join us for this special, bilingual service. Childcare available at the 7:30pm service. More information here.
Great Vigil of Easter
Saturday, April 20th, 7:30pm at the CathedralOur bilingual service begins at 7:30pm, in darkness. Our choir sings throughout. It is the first service of Easter and consists of four parts: The Service of Light (kindling of new fire, lighting the Paschal candle, the Exsultet); The Service of Lessons (readings from the Hebrew Scriptures interspersed with psalms, canticles, and prayers); Christian Initiation (Holy Baptism) or the Renewal of Baptismal Vows; and the Eucharist. It is followed by a festive reception with root beer floats! Free parking and childcare. More info here. Bishop Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows will preside.
Easter Sunday
Sunday, April 21st, 8am, 10am, 1pm, 6pm at the CathedralJoin us for the feast of Christ’s resurrection at Christ Church Cathedral. Our 10AM service will feature special choral music throughout the service honoring the glory of Easter. After the service, children are welcome to join us for our annual Easter Hug Hunt! Join us for Bishop Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows will preside at the 10am and 1pm services.

Free parking is available at the EZ Park Garage at 20 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Please bring your ticket to church for validation.
