Francisco Ortega

Francisco Ortega was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He did his undergrad degree in Indiana University where he studied with Robert Harrison, Patricia Stiles and Carol Vaness and was saw in many operas as well as singing tenor soloist in multiple oratorios. Francisco is now studying a masters in voice in LSU, where he studies with Denis Jesse. This fall he will take part in a LSU Opera production of Falstaff singing Fenton and then will be the tenor soloist for a performance with the Baton Rouge Symphony of Handel’s Messiah.

Francisco was part of the Coro Latinoamericano and the Choir of Men and Choristers at Christ Church Cathedral, Indianapolis for 2 years, while he was finishing his studies at Indiana University. He keeps great memories of his time at the Cathedral and is very happy to be back for this Concert of La Misa Nicaragüense.
