While guided by Episcopalian traditions and structures, Christ Church Cathedral welcomes the exploration of faith. Parishioners grow spiritually at their own pace, and are encouraged to find a service that best fits their needs. CCC offers four distinct Sunday worship services, and also holds weekday services.
Beginning, Sunday, May 2, 2021, Christ Church Cathedral will offer in-person worship opportunities in addition to livestreaming. Pre-registration is required for in-person worship. Learn more or register.
A reflective service of Holy Scripture and Holy Communion. While there is no music and the service is shorter, the welcome is warm. Pre-registration is required.
We reflect on Holy Scripture and celebrate Holy Communion in a reverent and formal service that’s never stuffy or stiff. This service includes virtual singing and other music by soloists and staff. The congregation is invited to participate from home via livestream, but singing is currently proscribed at in-person services. The weekly sermons may inspire, comfort, or challenge the congregation as listeners filter them through their own experiences.
This is a choral service with lots of singing by our choirs and by the congregation. Individuals may be inspired, comforted, or challenged by the sermon, but are free to respond to it as their conscious calls. All who seek Christ are welcome to communion. Nursery care is also available, and education opportunities are available September through May, with coffee and refreshments available on the lawn in the summer.
We are one congregation worshiping in two languages. This service is very similar to the 10 a.m. in its structure and content, but it’s conducted entirely in Spanish. The music provided by the Coro Latinoamericano and guitarists is joyful and lively. Even if you don’t speak Spanish very well, you will be welcomed warmly.
On the first Sunday of each month, there is a fiesta afterward; it has the best Latino food in Indy!
This new, bilingual service was developed for worshippers who aren’t ready yet to worship with us indoors. This casual service is held on the Cathedral lawn, and attendees should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Pre-registration is required.
A reflective, prayerful service that celebrates the beauty of morning. The brief service includes a scripture reading; excerpts from the psalter; and prayers for the church, the diocese, and the city. Join us on Facebook.
This service is on hiatus while the Cathedral building is closed.
A mid-day, 30-minute service ideal for those who live and work downtown. Clergy members offer scripture readings, a brief homily, and the Holy Eucharist. Monday services also include anointing with holy oil.
A reverent, end-of-the-day service that includes two scripture readings, as well as readings from the psalter. The brief service honors the day’s events through prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. Join us on Facebook on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Evensong is modeled after the English cathedral tradition of choral worship. The choir provides resonant, beautiful music, and the congregation participates through prayerful listening. Liturgy includes the recitation of psalms and readings from the Bible. Join us on Facebook.
Throughout the year, CCC holds special worship services that honor Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. During the season of Advent, we find peace during the hectic holiday season. We pray, reflect, and wait for Christmas Eve, when we celebrate the birth of Christ with a Christmas Pageant and Midnight Mass. We begin the Lenten season on Ash Wednesday, when we offer “Ashes on the Go” on the sidewalk in front of the church. Holy Week includes a bilingual service on Maundy Thursday and two solemn services on Good Friday. The Great Vigil of Easter celebrates Christ’s resurrection, and includes the renewal of baptismal vows and joyful music and choral accompaniment. A children’s Easter egg hunt is also held outside on the lawn.
