Bi-Monthly Blood Drive

Christ Church Cathedral has partnered with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana to offer a blood drive every other month on the second Tuesday of the month.

The first of these bi-monthly blood drives will be Tuesday, Aug. 10, and we invite all of our neighbors in the area to take advantage of this opportunity to make a profound difference in a person’s life. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. A photo ID and proof of birth date are required for Versiti’s records.

Beginning in February, Versiti will park a mobile blood donation center on the northeast quadrant of Monument Circle from 2 to 5 p.m. instead of setting up in CCC’s Parish Hall.

Why give?

This is a volunteer opportunity like no other. Any one of us might need a transfusion, at any time. We rely on one another to meet that need, and Versiti is the only provider of blood to our community hospitals. In a medical emergency, often the most important element is the availability of blood. Your blood donation can help trauma victims, surgery patients, premature babies, people with anemia, and more.

Who can give?

At CCC we invite individuals ages 18 and older who are in good health and not experiencing symptoms of cold or flu to donate blood. The US Food and Drug Administration has updated its policies regarding blood donation by gay and bisexual men. Please review the LGBTQ+ donor FAQ.

How often can you give?

The FDA limits donations to every eight weeks (56 days) or up to six times per year.

What can you donate?

At CCC, Versiti will accept donations of whole blood and double red cells. For information on where you can donate plasma or platelets, visit versiti.org.
