Description

We are searching for a full-time Canon and Director of Coro Latinoamericano. A Latin American Choir of the Episcopal Church, the Coro is formed mainly by volunteers and supported by professional musicians. The vision of Coro Latinoamericano is to be ambassadors of the Latin American musical tradition through our faith and spirituality. The mission for Coro Latinoamericano is to be a guide and model for our congregation, to be a presence in our community with dedicated and continuous work, to communicate our joy by inspiring those who listen to us, to promote our music by innovating and merging different Latin American rhythms, and to grow in our faith and musical skills.

The Canon and Director of Coro Latinoamericano serves as the primary music leader for services in Spanish and is responsible for leading rehearsals, liturgy, and other choir commitments. Additionally, the Director will provide ideal conditions for the choir and musicians to carry out their objectives, maintaining a musical level of excellence. The Canon and Director of Coro Latinoamericano will report to the Canon and Director of Music.

Note: In the Episcopal tradition, the word “Canon” means a senior staff member of the Cathedral, lay or ordained, who is a leader in our life of prayer and service. This is a non-ordained position.
