Covenant Grant to Craine House

For nearly a decade, the Covenant Grants Committee of Christ Church Cathedral has been Widening the Circle of God’s Embrace by sharing the financial gifts of our congregation with local non-profits and ministries. The committee reviews grant applications from a wide range of organizations that support the most vulnerable within the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis to connect the Cathedral to this important work.

This January, the Committee found themselves with a modest surplus from 2020’s stewardship campaign, presenting an opportunity to offer a one-time gift of $5,234.70 to Craine House. One of only six in the country, the Craine House program allows for nonviolent female offenders and their young children in a unique home-like setting offering comprehensive wrap-around services to end the cycle of incarceration and poverty for the families it serves. Both innovative and restorative, the work of Craine House is close to the heart of the Covenant Grants Committee members and they are grateful for the support of the members through their continued giving.
