Ash Wednesday marks the start of the Lenten period, the season in the Church preparing us for Easter. The ashes symbolize both death and repentance, and serve as a reminder of our mortality and the life of Resurrection offered in Christ. Our virtual services of the day will air at 12:00 noon (English), 6:00 p.m. (English), and 7:00 p.m (Spanish). Because of COVID safety concerns, we will not be offering in-person Ash Wednesday services or Ashes to Go. However, every Cathedral household will receive a gift bag during the weekend of February 14 to mark the installation of Dean Gray Lesesne’s installation that will include ashes for you and your loved ones to impose on each other.
