OCTOBER  28, 2022

With just a few weeks left in our season of stewardship, Dean Gray and Stewardship Committee Chair Reyn Libed have good news to share!

Deeper Roots

SUNDAY, NOV. 6

Don’t forget to bring your pledge card on the last day of our stewardship season! During each service we will place our pledge cards at the altar so that our collective giving may be blessed. After each service, we’ll also share in a meal together in celebration and gratitude for our ever-deepening roots!

Cottage Gatherings

As we seek to deepen our roots through strategic ministry, these gatherings serve as a way to learn more about the impact we have in a friendly and warm environment hosted by fellow parishioners. Two locations and dates are still available:

  • DOWNTOWN: Nov 1st at 7 p.m. (RSVP)

Vestry Check-in

SUNDAY, OCT. 30, AFTER EACH SERVICE

As part of our leadership’s commitment to transparency and collaboration, we invite you to join our Vestry for a quarterly update after each service. We’ll share highlights of our work together over the past three months and make plenty of time for your questions, comments, and feedback. We’ll meet in person in the Parish Hall.

Stephen Ministry Training

Are you a person with a kind heart and a keen listening ear? At Christ Church Cathedral we can train you to be a Stephen Minister—to provide confidential, one-on-one support for people who are facing various stresses, such as loneliness, illness, separation or divorce, job loss, retirement, a new arrival or an empty nest, or just heightened anxiety during these trying times. Stephen Ministers model Christ’s love by being present with their care receivers—listening, empathizing, encouraging. Training will begin in early November and continue through April 2023. Classes are interactive and rewarding, imparting skills valuable in all human relationships. Commissioned care providers are then supported through regular, required supervision. A written application and interview are required. For more information, contact the Rev. Tom Kryder-Reid, Canon Pastor.

Día de Muertos at CCC

Dia de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a rich spiritual experience where CCC comes together to collectively thank God for the lives of those before us and to hold space for each other as we process the loss of our dearly departed.

We invite you to experience this colorful, reverent, and celebratory season of honoring our loved ones by participating in the many community and liturgical events we have planned.

Diocesan Communications Update

For the past 5 years, Canticle Communications has consulted with the Diocese of Indianapolis for special projects like the website and logo design, as well as for ongoing work that has included diocesan newsletters, social media, communications from Bishop Jennifer, and diocesan convention materials. In response to the evolving needs throughout the diocese and with the opportunity for more collaboration between the diocese and cathedral, the Bishop’s staff will be shifting to bring day-to-day operations to a staff role in the coming weeks, with oversight and strategic direction from Elise Shrock, Director of Communications. Learn more about the search for the Diocesan Communications Coordinator here. Bishop Jennifer is deeply grateful to Rebecca Wilson, Jim Naughton, Kathleen Moore, Sophie Kitch-Peck, and all the members of the team at Canticle Communications, and looks forward to continued work with Canticle on special projects and crisis communications as the needs arise. Through this time of transition, know that our newsletters, website, and regular communications will continue.
