Welcoming the Rev. Canon Jodi Baron

This past week, The Rev. Canon Jodi Baron officially joined us as our new CCC Canon and Senior Associate! Jodi will work with Dean Lesesne and our team to lead day-to-day programmatic operations, overseeing project and program progress, and ensuring seamless integration of our mission and ministry with our daily practices. She will also work closely with the Dean and the Canon for the Circle to develop a strategy and ministry programs to make meaningful connections with our downtown neighbors. We look forward to parishioners getting to know Jodi and her family in the coming months!

On Sunday, June 26, Jodi will preach at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., and she will celebrate at 1 p.m.

Vestry Provides Grant to Waycross

On April 26, CCC’s Vestry voted to provide a grant to Waycross Camp & Conference Center in the amount of $25,000. Like many organizations, Waycross was hit hard by the economic repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic when they were forced to cancel the entire camp season in 2020. This grant from CCC will be used in part to reopen the  climbing wall and zip-line, help offset costs of part-time staff, hire new kitchen and maintenance personnel and underwrite staff training.

Christ Church Cathedral has long supported the mission and ministry of Waycross, and many parishioners are happy to regale you with stories of their time there as children and adults. We are happy that we are able to help provide such experiences for new generations of church leaders—both lay and ordained.

Stained Glass Covering Begins

This week crews began the extensive project to add a protective covering to CCC’s stained glass windows. If everything goes as planned, the project should take one month, wrapping up around July 20. During this time, there will be scaffolding, lifts, and various construction items on the front lawn. While the process may seem messy, it will help maintain our beautiful windows for years to come! We thank you for your patience through this process.
