While we all have been busy, busy, busy with the Easter Holidays and Celebrations for Dean Steve Carlsen and Director of Music Michael Boney, our Vestry members have been working behind the scenes to fill the chairs left by the Dean and Michael.
As you know we are now in need of a Rector, a Director of Music and next week we will be in need of an organist. Brad and I have interview two candidates for the Interim the Interim Rector position and two candidates for the Director of Music position. Regarding the Interim Director of Music position, we are happy to announced we have signed a contract to hire Christopher Lynch as our new Director of Music.
Regarding the Interim Rector, we have interviewed two very capable candidates and are discerning which of the two candidates would best support the future of the Cathedral. Again, we will keep you informed of our progress.
Thirdly, to help us know who we are when we begin our profile, on May 11th from 9 AM until 4 PM the Vestry sponsored Dismantling Racism Training with Catherine Meeks, Executive Director for the Absalom Jones Center. All Cathedral parishioners were encouraged to attend, especially those who wish to hold leadership positions in the congregation. Thanks to all who attended this important workshop.
Please remember that the deadline to nominate parish members for the Search Committee is Monday, May 20th, 2019. You can email me at email@example.com, if you have questions, or if you want to nominate a member of the congregation.
Finally, please pray for the Vestry and the congregation as we move through this transition period of our journey in Christ and spirit.
