CCC Seeking Canon Vicar

Christ Church Cathedral is a vibrant, multicultural faith community located in the heart of the City and the Diocese of Indianapolis. Over the last three years, we’ve experienced a 20% growth in our average Sunday attendance, tripled our congregational giving, and worked hard to welcome and integrate many newcomers and longtime parishioners returning from COVID into our mission to Glorify God, Serve our Neighbors, and Transform our City.

With the recent appointment of our beloved Canon and Senior Associate as Canon to the Ordinary in Southern Ohio, we are now looking for hands-on Canon Vicar who will partner with our Dean and healthy staff team as a day-to-day leader, overseer, and equipper for our mission and ministry. Musts include someone who is detail-oriented, is passionate about multicultural ministry, has multiple staff supervisory experience, and enjoys the type of ministry setting where every day is different. Strong pluses include prior experience as a Rector or Priest-in-Charge, the ability to speak and write in Spanish, the ability to sing the liturgy (Sursum Corda/Proper Preface and Evensong responses), a personality that leans toward extroversion, and a passion for urban ministry.

This position is intentionally meant to prepare someone who is readying themselves for larger leadership opportunities in the next 3-5 years. Previous Canon Vicars (Senior Associates) include a Bishop, two Canons to the Ordinary, and a church planter.

Application Information
