Sunday’s Guest Preacher: The Rev. Scott Gunn

SUNDAY, MAY 22, AT 8 AND 10AM

This Sunday, be with us to welcome The Rev. Scott Gunn as our guest preacher. The Rev. Gunn serves as the Executive Director of Forward Movement in Cincinnati, Ohio, where their mission is to inspire disciples and empower evangelists. He also is a Deputy to General Convention, serving on behalf of the Diocese of Southern Ohio. In 2012 and 2009, he served in the same capacity for the Diocese of Rhode Island. In addition, he serves on the board of the Anglican Theological Review, and he is the president of the Protestant Church-owned Publishers Association.

Scott is a self-proclaimed “bona fide technology geek.” Prior to his ordination, he worked in technology spheres, including the The Atlantic Monthly & Fast Company, the MIT Media Lab, and Education Development Center. If asked, he’ll tell you about his high-flying and quickly-crashing experience at a dot-com.

The Greatest Spectacle in Ministry: CCC Ministry Fair This Sunday!

SUNDAY, MAY 22, AT 11:30AM

It’s race month in Indy and there’s no better time to get revved up to learn more about the many ministry opportunities available at CCC! Be with us between services and learn about each ministry team’s goals and needs. Crew members from each team will be available at their booths so that you can ask questions and explore what opportunities are a good spiritual fit for you.

Congratulations, Melissa Hickman!

THURSDAY, MAY 26, AT 5:30PM

Christ Church Cathedral’s own Melissa Hickman is retiring from her ministry as the Program Director for Pathways for Vitality at the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis at the end of this month. A financial literacy and ministry renewal initiative, Pathways is a six-year program funded by the Lilly Endowment, designed for clergy and lay leaders to facilitate well-informed and honest conversations about money, ministry, and healthy practices for sustainability. Through the Pathways program, the diocese offered seminary scholarships and assistance to many diocesan clergy and their families. Melissa’s leadership of this program has offered congregations in our Diocese fresh perspectives for the future and healthy leadership growth.

Please join us for a celebratory Evensong on Thursday, May 26, at 5:30 p.m. to thank Melissa for her work and to wish her the best in her next chapter of ministry. (Lucky for us, she’ll still be gladly in our pews on Sunday mornings!)

Congratulations, Graduates!

We are very proud of the following individuals who have graduated or anticipate graduating this year:

* Jose Parks Lacy, Park Tudor High School
* Nolan Thompson, Carmel High School
* Ewan McDuffee, Franklin Central High School
* In-ho Yi, New York University, Master of Science

Volunteer opportunities are available in multiple time slots to make it easier for you to be part of the action. Please sign up for as many open slots as you are comfortable doing! Morning shifts will take place in the cathedral, and afternoon shifts will involve field trips in the downtown area.

All volunteers will be required to attend an orientation session on Sunday, May 22, at 2:30 p.m.

Questions? Contact Stephany Cohen or Canon Christopher Caruso-Lynch.
