Forum Hour Guest Speaker: Dr. David Miner

During this Sunday’s Forum at 11:30 a.m., Dr. David Miner will present the work of Bread for the World, an ecumenical group advocating to end hunger. Working through churches, campuses, and other organizations, Bread for the World equips people to advocate for federal legislation that will help end hunger and poverty.

Dave Miner, a former executive for Eli Lilly and Elanco, has served on Bread for the World’s national board of directors, including six years as chair, and he was the founding president of Indy Hunger Network, a steering committee chair for the Good Wages Initiative, and board chair for the Alliance to End Hunger. He has become a leading expert on hunger in Indianapolis, heading up five major studies of hunger and food assistance.

Poppies for Veterans

SUNDAY, NOV. 13

We are thankful for all the veterans among us. This Sunday, the Cathedral Women will offer handmade poppy pins to all veterans and active duty military personnel before each of the worship services.

O Judge of the nations, we remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our country who in the day of decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy. Grant that we may not rest until all the people of this land share the benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines. This we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP, p. 839)
